Bridging Divides, Building Solutions: Stakeholder Consultations on SRH Disparities in Jaipur District, India

Abstract

Women's Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) remains a critical area of concern, particularly in contexts were gendered power relations limit women's autonomy and decision-making capacity. This study investigates the multifaceted aspects of SRH including family planning, maternal healthcare, awareness of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and women's autonomy through a comparative analysis of rural and urban women in Jaipur district, Rajasthan. Using an exploratory research design, the study draws insights from a diverse group of stakeholders including policymakers, healthcare professionals, academicians, NGO (Non- government Organization) representatives, community leaders, and frontline workers. Purposive sampling was employed to recruit panel members with relevant expertise and engagement in the field of SRH. Data was collected through stakeholder consultation meetings, utilizing the Delphi method to facilitate structured discussions and consensus-building around complex SRH challenges. Findings highlight significant disparities in SRH awareness, access to healthcare services, and decision-making power between rural and urban women. The study underscores the urgent need for context-specific policy interventions, community engagement, and multi-sectorial collaboration to enhance SRH outcomes and uphold women's reproductive rights in Rajasthan.
