Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by Authors Submitting to the APJHM
The Asia Pacific Journal of Health Management (APJHM) requires authors to use the following policies on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in preparation of material (manuscripts, papers) to be submitted for publication in APJHM. Authors must use their own intellectual agency, primary research and analytical voice to construct their academic and professional publications [1,2].
- Authors must disclose at submission of the manuscript whether AI-assisted technologies (such as large language models, content generators, chatbots or image creators) were used to produce the submitted work. This disclosure must be in the required submission cover letter and in the submitted work where a use description statement of the technologies used and what was produced should be included at the end of the manuscript itself.
- Authors, individually and collectively, who submit manuscripts or any materials are responsible for transparency on the accuracy, integrity and originality of the work. AI-assisted technologies cannot be listed as authors.
- Authors must take responsibility to carefully review and edit all manuscripts and materials produced with AI in order to prevent submission of authoritative sounding materials that is incorrect, incomplete or biased.
- Authors must be able to assert that there is no plagiarism of text or images in materials produced by AI. Authors must ensure that all quoted material is properly attributed with correct (Vancouver style) citations and full references.
- Citation of AI-generated material as a primary source is not accepted by the journal.
